Create Your Pika Agent

Your Pika Agent is the persistent persona that the MCP exposes to Claude. Spend a few minutes here the more thoughtful the setup, the more on-brand your Claude-generated content becomes.

  1. Go to pika.me and click Get Started in the top-right corner.
  2. Sign up with email, Google, or Apple. If you already have a legacy Pika video account, you'll still need to create a new one Pika Agents is a separate product.
  3. Walk through onboarding: name your agent, design their face and voice, and write a short personality brief.
  4. When you reach the dashboard, your agent is ready and the three identity files (identity, soul, style) are saved to your profile.

๐Ÿ’ก
Pro tip Take onboarding seriously. The soul file captures your taste, and style captures your visual signature. These two files are what stop Claude from producing generic AI slop.
02
Claude Account

Open Claude and Sign In

If you don't have Claude yet, sign up. Both the free tier and Claude Pro work with custom connectors but heavy creative work goes faster on Pro thanks to higher rate limits.

  1. Go to claude.ai and sign in (or sign up if it's your first time).
  2. Optionally install the desktop app from claude.ai/download connectors sync automatically across web, desktop, and iOS once installed from the web.
  3. Verify your email if Claude asks for it. You won't be able to add connectors otherwise.
โš ๏ธ
iOS note You can't add custom MCP connectors directly from the Claude iOS app. Install it once on claude.ai (web) or the desktop app, and it syncs to your mobile automatically.
03
Custom Connector

Add the Pika MCP Connector

This is the core install step. You're telling Claude where to find Pika's MCP server, authorizing your account, and granting tool permissions.

  1. Click your profile avatar in Claude and choose Settings.
  2. In the sidebar, click Connectors (or open claude.ai/settings/connectors directly).
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click + Add custom Connector.
  4. In the dialog, enter Pika as the connector name.
  5. Paste the MCP endpoint URL into the URL field (see the box below).
  6. Click Sync Claude will verify the endpoint and show "Pika" in your connector list.
https://mcp.pika.me/api/mcp

The Connectors section in Claude Settings click + Add custom Connector to open the setup dialog.
๐Ÿ’ก
What "Sync" does It pings the MCP endpoint, reads the available tools, and registers Pika as a connector. It doesn't yet log you in to Pika that's the next step.
04
OAuth Authorization

Connect and Authorize

After Sync, Pika appears in your connector list but is greyed out. One more click links it to your Pika Agent account via OAuth.

  1. Find Pika in your connector list and click on it.
  2. Click Connect. A browser tab opens to pika.me.
  3. Sign in to Pika if you aren't already (use the account you created in Step 1).
  4. Click Authorize Claude on Pika's permissions screen.
  5. You'll be redirected back to Claude. Pika now shows as Connected.
  6. Pick which tools to expose. The default is "all tools enabled" leave this unless you have a specific reason to limit.
๐Ÿ”’
Permissions check Pika will ask for permission to use your agent's identity, generate content on your behalf, and debit your Pika Wallet. None of these are unusual for a creative agent but read the screen before clicking Authorize.
05
Persona Load

Pikafy Your First Chat

Open a new Claude conversation. Before you generate anything, tell Claude to load your Pika Agent's identity files. Skip this step and the agent acts generic same caliber as raw pika.art.

Paste this prompt into your first message:

โ–ธ First Message
I've just connected the Pika MCP to Claude. Please help me set up my Pika Agent identity by doing the following: read my existing identity files by calling identity_persona_read for each of the three files: identity, soul, and style.

Claude will call the tool three times, read the files, and confirm with a short summary of who your agent is. From this point on, the agent is loaded for this conversation.

๐Ÿ”„
Per-conversation step The persona load is per-conversation, not permanent. Run this prompt as the first message of every new Claude chat where you want your Pika Agent active.
06
Skills Plugin (optional)

Install the Pika Skills Plugin

The Skills plugin adds slash commands for ready-made workflows: /pika:podcast, /pika:explainer, /pika:ugc-ads. Optional, but recommended if you regularly produce these formats.

  1. In Claude desktop (or Cowork), open Customize.
  2. Click the + next to Personal plugins โ†’ Create plugin โ†’ Add marketplace.
  3. Paste this marketplace handle and click Sync:
Pika-Labs/Pika-Plugins
  1. Once the marketplace is added, open the Personal plugins tab and toggle the Pika plugin ON.
  2. Test it by typing /pika: in any chat Claude will autocomplete with the available slash commands.
โšก
Skill choice Install the plugin if you produce podcasts, explainer videos, or UGC ads weekly. Otherwise, your Pika Agent can already handle creative requests in natural language without the slash commands.
07
Verification

Test the Connection

Last step. Run a test prompt to confirm everything is wired correctly. If this returns a generated image or video, you're done.

Try a small, low-cost prompt first:

โ–ธ Test Prompt
Generate a square hero image in my style a stylized coffee cup on a warm background. Use whichever image model fits best.

Claude should route the request to Gemini Image, ChatGPT Images 2, or SeedDream Image, debit a few tokens from your Pika Wallet, and return the rendered image inline. Total cost: a fraction of the smallest 800-token pack.

๐ŸŽ‰

You're Pikafied.

Your Pika Agent is now connected to Claude. Generate ads, podcasts, explainers, images, voiceovers, and music all from one chat, all in your agent's voice.

Troubleshooting

If something went wrong, the answer is usually one of these.

"Sync failed" when adding the connector

The most common cause is a typo in the endpoint URL. Confirm it's exactly https://mcp.pika.me/api/mcp no trailing slash, no missing letters, https not http.

If the URL is correct, Pika's MCP server may be briefly down. Wait a minute and click Sync again. If it persists, check Pika's status page or Twitter for outage announcements.

"Authorize Claude" page doesn't load

Your browser may be blocking the OAuth popup. Allow popups for both claude.ai and pika.me, then click Connect again.

Try a different browser if the issue persists Chrome, Edge, and Safari all support the OAuth flow.

Generations look generic not in my style

You probably skipped Step 5. The persona load (identity_persona_read) is required at the start of every new conversation, otherwise the agent runs with default model settings and no voice profile.

Open the chat, run the persona-load prompt as the first message, then retry your generation.

"Insufficient tokens" error

Your Pika Wallet ran out. Visit pika.me, open your wallet, and buy a token pack ($7.99 to $149.99). Generations resume immediately after purchase.

Note that high-end models like Sora 2 burn tokens faster than Pika Video. If you're testing, ask the agent to use a budget model.

Slash commands don't appear

The Skills plugin only works in Claude desktop or Cowork not in claude.ai web for now. Download Claude desktop from claude.ai/download and install the plugin there.

Also verify the Pika plugin toggle is ON in the Personal plugins tab. A grey toggle means it's installed but inactive.

Can I uninstall Pika MCP later?

Yes. Go to Settings โ†’ Connectors, find Pika, and click Disconnect (to keep the connector but revoke OAuth) or Remove (to delete it entirely).

Removing the connector does not delete your Pika Agent or your Pika Wallet balance those live on pika.me and are unaffected.

Does Pika MCP work on mobile?

Yes, but with one quirk: you have to install the connector from claude.ai on a desktop browser first. Once installed, it syncs to your Claude iOS app automatically. Custom connectors can't be added directly inside the iOS app.
